How to use this salary hub
This section has the payroll-adjacent tools — the ones employers and employees use to work backwards and forwards between gross and net, or between hourly and salary figures.
Where the main Tax hub focuses on the end-to-end take-home-pay calculation (including pension and benefits), the tools here are more granular and mechanical: convert £X gross to £Y net with one set of deductions, or build a payroll estimate for someone with overtime plus standard hours.
These calculators work well as cross-checks during contract negotiations — if an agency says "£45,000 package is equivalent to £52/hour for a 40-hour week", the Salary-to-Hourly tool tells you whether the maths holds up. Similarly, Net-to-Gross is useful when a recruiter quotes an offer in take-home terms.
