Editorial standards

Who writes the content

CalculatorZone uses an organizational byline because no named, credentialed individual is currently published as the author. The editorial team maintains the calculator code, assumptions and supporting copy. We will name an individual only when their identity, role and responsibility for a page can be verified.

How calculators are built

• Rate-dependent calculators show a source and period only after that page has been checked against the linked publication.
• Mortgage and loan pages state whether they use amortisation, simple interest or a user-assumption model.
• Calculators without a recorded source do not receive a generic government attribution.
• Results remain estimates; exclusions and jurisdiction limits are stated on the relevant page.

Review cadence

A “Last reviewed” date appears only when the page has a recorded formula and source review. Pages without that record do not receive a generated date. Typical review triggers are:

• Tax-year changes — affected UK tax, salary and allowance pages.
• Budgets and legislation — only calculators affected by confirmed changes.
• Method or guidance changes — formula assumptions and explanatory copy.
• Ad-hoc — any calculator may be updated sooner if legislation, regulation or published rates change.

Corrections policy

If you spot an error, a stale rate, or a bug in a calculation, please email editor@calculatorzone.co.uk. Reports are checked as capacity allows. Verified errors are prioritised according to their impact, particularly where a tax, borrowing or legal calculation could materially mislead a reader.

Not regulated financial advice

CalculatorZone is an information service. We publish calculators and guides for educational and planning purposes. We are not a firm regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and we do not give personalised financial, tax, or legal advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions that have a material financial impact.

Advertising & affiliate disclosure

CalculatorZone displays third-party advertising via Google AdSense. Ads are clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content. If we recommend a specific product or service and receive a commission if you click through, we mark that link as rel="sponsored" and show a visible affiliate disclosure on the affected card.

• SumUp (selected small-business calculator pages where taking card payments is a relevant next step).

• We do not publish paid corrections.
• Affiliate links are labelled and do not change a calculator result.
• Third-party terms, prices and availability can change; check them on the provider's site.

Calculator outputs do not change according to an advertiser or affiliate relationship. A commercial link is not a recommendation tailored to your circumstances.
