Who is responsible for your data
CalculatorZone is an independently run website. It is not a bank, lender, adviser or regulated firm.
We are the controller of the personal data described on this page. This page explains what the site does with personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can contact us about it at [email protected].
The short version
- The figures you type into a calculator stay in your browser. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- The site has no analytics script and does not track you across the web.
- Advertising and Amazon scripts only load if you accept advertising cookies, and they are currently switched off.
- Beyond the technical data every website receives when a page is requested, we only receive personal data if you email us.
What we collect, why, and our legal basis

Email sent to our contact addresses is handled by our mailbox provider. There is no contact form on the site. We do not run analytics of our own.
What stays on your device
The site stores a few items in your browser's local storage. They are listed, with their names, on the cookie policy. We never receive them. You can remove a saved scenario or clear your recent calculators from the homepage, and you can clear everything through your browser settings.
Advertising and Amazon
At the moment the site is not loading advertising. If we switch it on, the Google AdSense and Amazon scripts will load only after you choose to accept advertising cookies in the cookie banner. If you reject them, or have not chosen, they do not load. You can change your choice at any time:
If you turn advertising off after it has been on, we stop loading it on the next page you open. Cookies that a provider has already set can be removed through your browser settings. Google and Amazon decide what their cookies do and how long they last; see Google's privacy policy and Amazon's privacy notice for details.
Links to other sites
Some links lead to other sites, including affiliate links that earn us a commission. When you follow one, that site's own privacy policy applies and it may set its own cookies. Affiliate links are marked, and a commission never changes a calculator result.
If we switch on paid reports
Paid PDF reports are built but switched off, so none of this happens today. If we switch them on, buying a report would involve Stripe for payment, an email provider to send the report and file storage to hold it. The calculator figures needed for the report would be sent to those providers. We would update this page and tell you at checkout before taking any payment.
How long we keep data
Items in your browser stay until you remove them. We keep emails for as long as we need to deal with them and any follow-up, and then delete them. Cloudflare keeps technical data under its own retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to limit how we use your data;
- object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests;
- ask for your data in a portable format, where that applies;
- withdraw consent at any time, for example through Cookie settings.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month, and we do not normally charge a fee. Because we hold very little personal data, we may need to ask you for the email address you wrote from so that we can find your messages.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Transfers outside the UK
Cloudflare, and Google and Amazon if you accept advertising cookies, are based in or use servers in the United States and other countries, so some data may be processed outside the UK; each describes how it protects that data in its own privacy policy.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No system is completely secure, but we keep the amount of personal data we hold to a minimum.
Children
The site is written for adults and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant we will say so here.
